Can't connect to internet. Using linksys wireless-g usb network adapter. Please help.

Please, please, please help me.

I am using a Linksys Wireless-g 2.4 GHz 802.11 g Model No. WUSB54G ver. 4 usb network adapter with Ubuntu. The problem is that I can connect to the internet, but the connection will only last about two minutes. Also, when it is connected the signal strength is just awful. I am having my regrets about switching to linux because I have no idea how to resolve said problem. Is there anything I can do, and if there is I would probably need some instruction. Please help and thanks if you do.

Have you tried disabling your security for a few minutes, and seeing if you still get dropped after 2-3min? I doubt that would be the case, as I'd think you'd not connect at all in that instance...

How exactly are you using this device, ndiswrapper or what?

That's because last time I went to forums trying to get help nobody replied, so I was assuming nobody was going to reply unless I was persistant.

I don't know, I installed Ubuntu, plugged the adapter in and it just worked I guess. I didn't do anything.
