cant attach files to email with browse button - weird!!

i have ubuntu 6.06 and i recently installed sunjava onto it...
after that, i am not able to attach files to my hotmail unless i type in the path of the file...using the browse button causes the window to close...no errors given or anything...
and cant find anything on the internet..probably because i dont know what exactly is wrong...
got any solutions..?

does hotmail uses activeX? might be the problem not sure though

flipwhy 09-07-2006 09:06 AM

i dont know...what it is or whether hotmail has it...will have to check it..

flipwhy 09-07-2006 10:16 AM

ok...from what ive read on it...i think i should be having ActiveX..pretty sure coz it was working before I put java on...
not sure what to do about it.

i read over it thast it was after you installed java... i dont think the problem is activex then cuz they dont have much in comon.

what you should do is open a terminal then start the browser from there start firefox with the command
Code:

$ firefox
then do what you gotta do and when it crashes (or closes) you'll maybe see some warnings in the console. post that here maybe it makes some clearance

good thinking but that doesnt work...coz after you enter the command firefox..it doesnt show anything else..just gives command prompt...thats it.
