Cannot Wake Computer
I am running Ubuntu 8.10 for some reason after a period of time (about an hour) when I come back to the computer it has a blank screen. If I hit the space bar (which normally wakes it) the tan screen (the one that comes up on initial boot) comes up and that's it. No drive activity indications at all. I have to do a power reset.
My power default options which I have not changed are that the computer never goes to sleep and the display shuts down after 40 minutes. Is there a fix for this problem? |
This could be a problem with X Windows and screen savers. Try to switch from X Windows to a console with CTRL+ALT+some-number-between-2-and-6, and then switch back with ALT+7 (X Windows often runs on console 7).
