Cannot use mouse

Hi,

I just installed a mandrake 7.0 on my 2nd comp, and now, i cannot use my mouse.

What does support hardware capability in the mandrake help pages mean?
Is it that it will automatically detect the mouse and mandrake has the drivers necessary to run it?

What should be my next step?

Thanks
Confused
