Cannot telnet into linux machine from Solaris machine
OS is red hat ES. I have my linux machine networked with a Solaris 8 machine and Win2k machines. I can telnet from the Linux machine into the Solaris box but I cannot telnet from the Solaris box to the Linux machine. I get an "unknown host" message. This is my first Linux machine, I know the Solaris machine is setup right.
Try to telnet to the linux box using it's IP address, because "unknown host" means that the solaris box cannot resolve linux hostname. If you succeed then add the linux IP/hostname in the Solaris /etc/hosts
