cannot see the debian samba server wit windows 7


It was working fine and quit it is like it don't exist any more i had it mapped and it had a red x tried everything i know. Help

Are the samba daemons nbd and smbd running? Did you make any changes or updates to either computer?

i restarted

i restarted samba but no success i also typed the command ps -A i grep mbd it just goes to search results and shows computer and internet with no results.

If there is no output from the ps command as posted above then samba is not running.

Look at the log files in /var/log/samba/ and check log.nmbd and log.smbd. You must be root to access the files.

i am tired of errors so going to format and reload.. question should i load xrdp or samba first?

It should not matter.
