Hi Mithesh, Welcome to LQ. Have you tried printing .txt files from more than one program? Is this print issue isolated to one piece of software or are you having issues printing .txt files regardless of the software? Is the printer set up through cups?

Good luck. ;-)

PLEASE!!! upgrade ASAP!!!!

Fedora 12 is 8 and soon to be 9 versions OUT OF DATE
Fedora 12 has been UNSUPPORTED since it went END OF LIFE on 2010-12-02

12 is missing the last 3.5 YEARS of security updates !!!

DO NOT USE FEDORA 12 !!!!

Please install the current Fedora 20
Fedora 21 will be released this summer

as to printing
Did you set up and configure the printer ?
use the CUPS web interface
http://localhost:631

the above link is for YOUR computer "localhost"

Hi all,

Thanks for your reply

I have setup the printer through cups.I have tried to print through GEDIT text file also the normal text files, its not printing.

seeing as that printer is NEWER than the dead and unsupported fedora 12
there is NO support for it in 12

install fedora 20

It may depend on the printer. If the printer accepts postscript/PDF it should print - but the text file would have to be converted to postscript/PDF first. For a postscript printer I have used enscript.
