Cannot play video located on external USB drive.

I have an HDD I use with my Windows XP. It has video files (not protected) in the DVD format. And formatted in the NTFS format.

I can see the HDD when it comes up. I can read the files on the drive but videos will not play.

I am using Ubuntu 12.04, 1.9 Gb memory, 500gb hd And I have the Fluendo player.

This should help. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Re...ts/PlayingDVDs

If it doesn't, try opening the DVD files in your file manager and drill down to the VIDEO_TS directory and try playing the individual *.vob files as a test.
