Cannot play MP3s
I can't play any MP3s on Linux. I'm just using the built-in media players. They don't work. Any suggestions?

Since Red Hat ships without any mp3 codecs, you have to install them yourself. Have you done that? If not, have a look around in Red Hat forums to find out where to get them from. I don't use RH myself so I can't help you with that.

i think red hat disabled mp3 support because of licensing concerns. you'll probably have to find workarounds or plugins for your media apps.

Re: Cannot play MP3s
What happens when you try to play MP3's with the built-in media players, and what are the built-in media players?
edit -> someone else knew RH doesn't have the codecs |
because of legal issues Linux didn't include mp3 support...
try to check check this site http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/se...query=xmms-mp3 download the xmms file and "rpm -i" the said file... this will solve your problem... -AKO- |
