cannot open transmission in lint mint 12 lisa (amd64)

when i try to open transmission in linux mint 12 lisa 64 bit it says transmission cannot be started couldnt open"/home/diablo/config./transmission/lock" input output erroe. it was running when it shut down but i have been unable to restart it. i freed up disk space by deleting files in trash and downloads but it didnt seem to help. i am fairly new to linux and am learning to use terminal now. was having a horrible time with hackers in windows and i think they are still after me. i have my system loxcked dowm pretty well though. im using a dell xps 17 with an i-7 chip 6gigs of ram. i am dual booted with windows but mostly use linux. it said i was running out of disk space right before it shut down(why i deleted trash and download files) can anyone please help i am stumped. i have a professional team of hackers screwing with me constantly because i am poor and do a lot of filesharing thanks so much i tried a solved in ubuntu but it didnt work i need the entire commands. i dont have any friends that use linux so im learning entirely by myself. thanks so much

Try /usr/bin/transmission from your file manager.

i dont know what my file manager is i tried it in transmission and it said no such directory. i am pretty ignorant of linusx. i am just starting to understand how to use it.

arthugo 06-30-2012 04:32 PM

i tried sudo apt-get /usr/bin/transmission and it said no such directory found.

also someone suggested i install vuze. i tried that but i dont thinks it installed. couldnt fetch some files. these hackers after me are pretty good so i cant open my system up much. i have to use public internet and they are like vultures (just waiting)

Your file manager opens the files to your "Computer" or "home" You might have an icon on desktop, to explore your files.

Try using "Synaptic package manager" there's an option to remove & remove configuration files, if you don't have it try
