Cannot Open Root Device >> Proliant 1500

I'm Running Redhat 6.1 off my Proliant 1500.
I somehow managed to get redhat installed I'm just having a problem with opening the root device.. I have the System Partition.

I been reading on possible solutions that may help me get past this problem but I have no idea how about going to edit this stuff cuz I am a total newbie.

I have previous experience installing Linux onto another system and it work'd quite fine. I'm just having a problem with my new (Old) Proliant 1500.

The Line goes as follows at the end.

>> Cannot open root device 48:06
>> Unable to mount Root Device on 48:06

Should I make a /boot partition on installing and a seperate for installing the rest of the applications and stuff. I have no idea how to go about this as I said earlyer.

Thanks alot for anyhelp.
