Question Cannot Open Mouse when starting X

Hi everyone,
I just got and installed Winlinux 2001 which...true to its advertisements was pretty easy to install. After the install though, when I tried to start X, I received the following error:

Fatal Server Error: Cannot Open Mouse (No such device)

For those not familiar with the distribution, it comes with its own windows-based configuration tool which detected all my hardware...including my mouse, but still ran into this problem.

I've tried a bunch of things to try to fix this. I followed Winlinux's FAQ suggestions (select a different mouse and the other was to enable software cursor in their config) which didn't help. I linked the /dev/psaux to /dev/mouse. I even tried to edit the xf86config by myself, but it gave me an unable to write to file when I tried to save it.

Unfortunately, it seems like the distribution did not come with neither emacs nor joe so I'm at a loss as to how to edit the xf86config myself.

I have a Fujitsu Lifebook 280DX and running Windows 98 along with the Winlinux 2001.

Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated!

Follow up

Ok, for some reason I do not get the error code when booting directly into linux from lilo. Before, I was running a link in windows provided by Winlinux that's supposed to boot linux, but for some reason, I guess the mouse isn't recognized under that situation.

Glad that it's working now though!
