Red face Cannot "Make" wvdial on Slackware 14.1

Hi all

I was wondering if anyone could perhaps give me some tips on how to solve this error. I have already successfully ran make on wvstreams however I get the following error when trying to run make on wvdial. If you need more information please don't hesitate to let me know.

My goal is to use my 3G modem on my newly installed Slackware system

Thank you.
Marios

Code:
bash-4.2# make
Package libwvstreams was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `libwvstreams.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'libwvstreams' found
Makefile:14: *** WvStreams does not appear to be installed. Stop.

Please use the "wvstreams package" from Slackbuilds
http://slackbuilds.org/result/?search=wvdial&sv=14.1

... where you'll also get the "wvdial package".

Hello

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately I get the following error:

Code:
bash-4.2# make
* Generating CC using c
* Generating CXX using cc
./CXX -c utils/wvuid
utils/wvuid.cc: In function 'wvuid_t wvgetuid()':
utils/wvuid.cc:63:19: error: 'getuid' was not declared in this scope
     return getuid();
                   ^
utils/wvuid.cc:64:1: warning: control reaches end of non-void function [-Wreturn-type]
 }
 ^
make: *** [utils/wvuid.o] Error 1
bash-4.2#
Please bare in mind that this is a clean install of Slackware

Thank you
