Cannot login to ftpserver (vsftpd) after changing user password

greetz everyone i am new on this forum and i have a little problem i'm hoping someone has an answer to

I have a ftpserver and one account to login to that server but after changing the password for that account i cannot login anymore not with the old or the new password. The connection is fine just the login process.
The login proces is being controled by PAM.
I can post some configfiles and loggings if that is necessary but i was hoping maybe a quick answer can fix this problem (perhaps a little thing i missed)
I have searched on google and other forums but i did not find any topic related to this specific problem

Thanx
MZ

Now i understand what went wrong, apparently i switched the usage of some commands, i thought usermod -p changes the user password. Also the reason that there where no threads to find about the problem, just a stupid mistake
anyway thanq for the reply
