cannot install ubuntu anymore? :(
 

hey everyone
yesterday i formatted my ubuntu / partition because my system was highly unstable
i kept however my /home

now my issue is, ubuntu installer will not finish properly! I get a "display server going down 6 times in a minute" kind of problem.
openSUSE debian and Fedora install no problem THO!

could this be down to some problem in my /home?

Thats what i tought, so i formatted it and same issue again!

what i dont understand is why
1) i could previously install ubuntu and now i cant, both from ubuntu original discs and from remastersys ones.
2) i can install debian/opensuse/fedora

any help is much appreciated!

It could be a faulty cd media. If you can boot into Live environment and not install some files could have got corrupt on the cd.
Download another image file, burn it to cd and then try to install using this fresh copy.

funny thing is i've used 2 cds already and they give me similar issues...

now im downloading the alternate ubuntu cd...

EDIT: I now tried with 4 CDs

Didnt try the alternate ISO though

I'll be installing Debian instead

This is the weirdest thing. God doesnt want me to use ubuntu anymore :)

Remember. Ubuntu is "Linux for humans". Have you had a major life change recently? :D

now im trying with alternate iso and its stuck on 6% since 5 minutes.

starting to think its an hardware issue on my laptop.
