Cannot Install Qt 3.3.2 RPM


Hello! i am running redhat 9.... i have been trying to install Qt version 3.3.2 on my system...

whenever i try to install the rpm i get the following error.... i already have qt-3.1.1-6 installed

i'm not sure if this is the best answer but ...
download and install all needed libraries: libdesigner.so.1, libeditor.so.1, libqassistantclient.so.1, libqassistantclient.so.1

What you are running into is called "rpm/dependency hell"

Anyway, I find it easier to just deal with the source when that many things come up, because it's very likely that those things will also have missing dependencies if you attempt to install them. If you build from source it will create a binary that will work for what you have, unless you are missing something major and then it will tell you. Either way, generally it's easier if you are at all used to the ./configure make make install routine
