Dear Friends ,

I cannot install the package using yum i RHEL 5 . When I install a rpm then it shows the following error :

[root@server ~]# yum install dovecot
Loading "rhnplugin" plugin
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
This system is not registered with RHN.
RHN support will be disabled.
Setting up Install Process
Setting up repositories
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linu...ta/repomd.xml: [Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (-2, 'Name or service not known')>
Trying other mirror.
Error: Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: rhel-debuginfo

My rhel-debuginfo.repo file is below :

[root@server ~]# cat /etc/yum.repos.d/rhel-debuginfo.repo
[rhel-debuginfo]
name=Red Hat Enterprise Linux $releasever - $basearch - Debug
baseurl=ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/enterprise/$releasever/en/os/$basearch/Debuginfo/
#enabled=0
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-redhat-release

Do you have a subscription to Redhat? If not, that's your problem. If so, use your support and call Redhat

for RHEL 5.3 YOU need to buy $$$$ tech support AND to get the updates

install CentOS 5.3 or pay Red Hat .
