cannot install Mandriva

Hello LQ members

I recently tried to install Mandriva Linux one 2009 from the free distribution in internet but could not.

The name of the package file is :
'Mandriva-linux-one-2009-beta-kde4-int-cdrom-i586'
and it is a ISO type of file.

I tried two methods both of which failed.
1) I just copied this file as is on a cd and tried to boot but nothing happened.

2) I unzipped this file one with Winrar (a windows applications) and got 3 directories named: 'boot', 'isolinux', 'loopbacks' and two pdf files. i copied everything onto a cd and inserted the cd and tried to boot again. Nothing!!

Could anyone let me know how I should proceed.

Many thanks,
Saadi

Burning an ".iso" file : Please use the option

"Burn an Image" or "Burn as an Image"

... then it will work.

You should burn the iso file that you down load as a iso image file not as data cd
