Cannot figure out how to sync my 5th generation ipod

I have tried almost all the music programs ie, banshee, rhythm player and I cannot figure out how to get it to work. Im pretty new to the whole linux thing so if you can dumb it down for me that would be great!!

Try installing gtkpod-aac with your package manager (I don't know which package manager, as you didn't state which distro you're using :) ).

I have gtkpod but it wont find my ipod... when I plug my ipod in it tells me its there but when I go to find it to put music on it i cant access it... Im using version 9.10

I assume by 9.10 you mean Ubuntu? (Or maybe Kubuntu or Xubuntu or Edubuntu....) Anyway, do you have gtkpod or gtkpod-aac? From the gtkpod-aac package description:
Quote:

This gtkpod version has been build with aac and mp4 support.
. I don't use an ipod personally, so I don't know if this makes a difference, but I do know that these are 2 separate packages.
