Hi,

I just installed Slackware 13, which is my first distro. I am very determined to learn Linux properly so I am jumping into the deep end of the pool. But I hit the biggest snag right away - Internet is not working. I got a "D-Link AirPlus DWL-G520 wireless adapter" card in the box.

When I cd to /dev I cannot see any wireless adapters there. Do they go by a specific name? Therefore I cannot even tell if Slackware sees the wireless card at all.

Basically, what steps do I need to take to get the internet working? I would greatly appreciate a detailed walkthrough as well as being pointed in a general direction of a solution.

Congratulations on your distro choice Although it's not the easiest one, in my opinion it's one of the distros that will teach you the most about linux.

For your wireless problem have a look at these pages of the Slackbook.

Just typing the command:
should tell you if your wireless card is detected.

Start by putting the output of that command here (if you cannot get it to work by reading the book)
