Cannot boot Linux Lite 1.0.2

I've burned two DVDs for Linux Lite 1.0.2 and neither will boot.

I tried booting the DVDs on two computers and on both it boots from disk --ignoring the DVD although you can see the DVD drive light flashing
My Solus and Kubuntu DVDs boot on the same computers just fine.
I burned all the DVDs the same way --using Xfburn
I downloaded the Lite 1.0.2 ISO from sourceforge
I verified the checksum for the downloaded ISO of Linux Lite

Anyone else tried booting Linux Lite 1.0.2? Is it worth it?

I just booted Linux Mint from the same machine where Lite won't boot.

You may try burning the disk again. DVDs are not perfect. If it still won't boot, it could be any of a number of things:

Your DVD drive is not first, or not at all, in the boot sequence.
The .iso image uses a boot method that is incompatible with your BIOS.
There's a problem with the .iso file that has nothing to do with your particular copy, or your machine. It was made wrong by the publisher.
You PC is very old.
You can boot CDs but not DVDs.
There's something you're not telling us.

I hope this helps.

If the media DVD is well prepared, then in that case, we can say that the kernel used in Linux Lite 1.0.2 is not prepared (not equipped, or does not support) the state of hardware in your machine, e.g. your video card, or chip.

Try another version of linux lite; or,
Try other distros of similar philosophy; or
Try Linux Mint.

Other light and backward compatible distros include AntiX, Absolute Linux and Salix OS. Visit www.distrowatch.com.

Hope that helps.

Good luck.

Hi, I'm the developer of Linux Lite. Linux Lite uses the pae kernel, maybe your cpu doesn't support this, I don't know. Can you try boot from a usb key, see if that helps. Cheers.
