cannot be written problem at startup

I recently typed kde in xterminal. And it restarted my KDE and everytime i login to my user, i get an error message saying that kickerrc cannot be saved or written by the user, and asked me to contact the admin. How do I turn it off? Am I able to login to KDE as root and fix it? Else how do i fix it with xterm?

Are you entering KDE while X (GUI) is up and running? You are issuing this form inside another windows mgr or while KDE is running?

I'm not sure I follow you.
To start KDE from shell enter
Code:
startx
if KDE is your default windows mgr. IF not enter
Code:
kdm
That will start KDEs' display mgr.

If you can't start X as user can you start it as root?

Give a little more info.

i got it fixed already. apparently my problem was that the user file "kickerrc" was somehow modified to root ownership by me typing KDE. That's what caused it everytime i start up and my user needed to write something into the file but couldn't.
