Ok, so did you read and understand the message?? It's telling you VERY plainly that it can't find the program you're trying to run. Since you've been using Linux for at least two years now, it should be obvious that either the program isn't in that location, or it's not installed. Which tells you the obvious solutions of either INSTALLING the program or using the correct path.

And AGAIN, as you've been told before:
  • OEL is NOT a free operating system, you PAY FOR IT, and in doing so, pay for SUPPORT that you need to call and use. Unless you PAY, you won't get patches/fixes/etc.
  • You don't say what version of VMware, or what (if any), host OS it's running on.
  • OEL is up to version 7...loading old OEL is of little use for a new system.
As an 'experienced' Oracle DBA and someone who has been asked to teach their 'juniors' both Linux and Oracle, these issues should be obvious.

Hi TBone ;

Thanks for your rewply.

I am using vmware version 10. OEL version is 5.5.

And one more , I installed in my laptop. NOT for commercial purpose.

I jhave checked , xterm package - > whether it is installed or NOT

# rpm -qa | grep xterm*
xterm-215-8.el5_4.1

Above command is showing already xterm package installed in my system.

Then what can i do ?

Which, AGAIN, does not matter AT ALL. These are COMMERCIAL products, period. This has been explained to you MANY times in the past.

You've been using Linux for years now....since the error message is VERY clear, and it's saying that it can't find the xterm executable at the location you specified, wouldn't it be VERY OBVIOUS to check the path??? Maybe type in "which xterm"?? Doing an "rpm -ql xterm", to see where the file is??? And again, go back to the previous reply, where these things were told to you, and again pay attention to the fact that OEL is NOT free, nor is VMware, and that OEL is up to version 7 now.
