No such file or directory.. when I go into that folder, i can only see ifcfg-lo and two other folders: profiles and devices.

oh.. the network folder is called networking.

so you finished doing the IP configuration with netconfig??

check it by making sure "ifconfig" and "route -n" show the proper IPs...

you can check that the proper DNS server IPs are set in your /etc/resolv.conf file also...

you don't need to post any of these results anymore, just check to make sure everything is fine...

now all you have to do is fix your firewall issue and then once that is fixed you can check to see if the server has proper network access...

yeah, that program will let you (permanently) change all the IP stuff... IP, gateway, netmask, etc... etc...

making changes with ifconfig is good for when one is doing tests and stuff...

but to make permanent changes one either edits the configuration files directly, or uses a configuration program (such as netconfig)...

you're very welcome...

let me know how it goes when the network guy fixes your router...

BTW, remember to restart the network on the server with the new configuration (after doing netconfig)...

i think the redhat way to do that is:
Code:
service network restart
(or just reboot the server)

good luck man...
