Cannot access BrightStor Arcserve on Linux Server

Hi

We are running Redhat Enterprise Linux ES 4.

We have Linux servers at our main site and at our DR site.

We can access Brightstor at our main site by typing in the Linux IP into a web browser followed by the port number.

However this isn't the case for the DR Linux servers. If we enter their IP followed by the port the error 'page cannot be displayed' pops up.

I have added the IP to my hosts file.

I then attended our DR site and logged onto the Linux server directly. I loaded the X interface and then opened a web browser. I typed in the IP followed by port number but again the page will not display.

Is there another way to load Brightstor?

We have very limited knowledge of Linux and we have just took over a project and as a result got Linux servers. We do not know if Brightstor has ever worked on the DR linux servers. How do I check if it is even installed?

I have spent alot of time googiling but cannot find my answers.

Thank you

Doesn't sound like it's either installed or configured on that server to be honest.

Just to make sure we're on the same page, you are referring to Brightstor being the old name for ARCserve Backup, right?

Hello.

Yes I mean ARCserve Backup.

I ran a ps ax | grep http on our main site server that is running Arcserve successfully and these are the results;

ps ax | grep http
2957 ? Ss 0:01 /usr/sbin/httpd
4190 ? Ss 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd -f /opt/CA/BrightStorARCserve/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
5960 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
5961 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
5962 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
5963 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
5964 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
5965 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
5966 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
5967 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
26450 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd -f /opt/CA/BrightStorARCserve/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
26451 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd -f /opt/CA/BrightStorARCserve/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
28349 pts/1 S+ 0:00 grep http

I then did the same for the DR site and it came up with this;

2416 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
2417 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
2418 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
2419 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
2420 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
2421 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
2422 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
2423 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
5001 pts/2 S+ 0:00 grep http
21875 ? Ss 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd

How do I check that is actually installed? Sorry for dumb question I have searched google on this one and I can't find anything anywhere. Do the results returned from ps ax | grep http mean its not actually setup?

Thank you
