What is the error?
Is the module already available but not loaded ? If so use modprobe <module-name>

There is no "Fedora 2.6". There is Fedora Core, of different versions, and there is a Linux kernel 2.6.xxx. Which version of Fedora are you using?

And have you tried looking at the man page for insmod?? The part where it says that most users should use modprobe, since it's a bit more clever?
