cannon bjc1000sp not working

I recently installed a fresh install of Fedora Core 1

The problem is that I can get my printer working.

It worked perfectly on Red Hat 9.

Does anyone know the correct drivers to use

Fedora Core 1 detects all of your hardware during install and configures your Linux system to support all of your hardware that it recognizes. Surely Fedora recognizes a Canon bjc1000sp.

I suggest that the fastest way to fix this oproblem is to reinstall making sure that the printer is powered up and plugged in during the install.

"can you delete the device at let Fedora detect it again like you can on windows?"

You are right. There is a better way. Log in as root and open a terminal. Then type in the following command:

/usr/bin/kaddprinterwizard

Then work your way through the wizard to install your printer. I haven't ever used this program but I did go through the screens far enough to see that this program may be what you need.

Be sure that your printer is powered on and plugged in when you start kaddprinterwizard.

thanks jailbait

That worked brilliantly. It is a nice little program as well. Beats me why it isn't in the main menu.
