Can you use things like Konquer and Kdevelope, or Anjuta with fluxbox?

I was just wondering If I could use things like kdevelope with flux box strait away or will I need to get those libraries that kde has. I am using vecor linux, the newest release and it says there is support for kde dock apps but im not sure about other programs.

Yeah you need to have all the kde libraries installed in order to use kde applications in fluxbox. You'll also need to compile kde support into fluxbox since its disabled by default. Its something like:

./configure --enable-kde

You can check by doing:

./configure --help

to see what available switches you have.

afaik, the enable-kde switch merely adds the ability to dock KDE apps in the slit. There doesn't really seem to be any specific support for KDE beyond that. However, KDE applications should still run without trouble in Fluxbox...they just take a bit longer to load the other necessary components that are already loaded if you're running KDE. You may also get some errors on load, but so far I haven't had too much trouble running KDE apps (at least the few that I actually enjoy using)
