Can someone please try this for me?

Can someone please try the following with the attached and let me know what prints?!

Code:
lp file.jpg
I am trying to concatenate two images into a single image file (using the montage command) and then print them.
I am expecting it to print as per the actual image (ie, square at the top and then rectangle underneath) but when it prints I am getting strange output, where bits of the square and rectangle are intermingled with each other!! Hard to explain really, but I just want to see if it's my printer/drivers or whether the file is somehow corrupted.

I'm normally piping the output from montage straight into lp/lpr but in this case I have output to a file (attached) instead and then tried printing that. The result is the same.

I've tried various things but nothing seems to work!! I am using this as part of a script and need the solution to be command-line based and quick (hence the reason for using montage and lp as opposed to printing from gimp etc).

I had no problems using lp to print this file to a HP LaserJet 5P and to a PDF file (I am running a CUPS server). And I get no errors loading the file into gimp or geeqie.

Thanks. I also get no errors, it just prints out completely wrong. I am using an Epson R285 with Gutenprint and cups.
If I print the two images separately then it works fine.

[edit]

Just tried printing with cups-pdf and it doesn't work either.
