If you had let us know that you had recently installed that nvidia package before you experienced the problem, then people would have been able to help you out much faster.

Particularly since xcom asked you in post 2 "did you install any new software?" and then asked in post 6 "After installing the proprietary NVIDIA driver and using the gdm, I was dropped back to the gdm every login attempt. Did you install a binary driver for your graphics card?".

Good luck Crash202021.
FYI: In LinuxMint the preferred way is to use Driver Manager, Not binary downloads.
Or apparently, a PPA if the recommended driver doesn't cut it.

Just sayin'
May be able to 'roll back' using deb in var/cache/apt/archives/ ?

If you can still download\burn .iso's (CLI) or run one you have, live to do so: Puppy Linux let's you make a save file and\or internet storage can help with any live distro to get your work done. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_CD

Seems I was treated a troll somehow, may as well point out,
if you can complete a GED you can collage (eg Pell Grant &c...)
so, why killing in the name of; were you born in a ghetto
or "god" fearing country or are they
maybe getting to you before your
brain's even done growing
ie 25-ish?

Listen person every touch phone has a feature where you can zoom in text by tapping or pinching - and from the screenshots you posted, i'm 100% convinced that those are typos caused by lack of attention while typing, not reading.
in any case, nobody else is to blame for your mistakes, certainly not some web designers.

and it is not "my group".

You power cycled the machine during an unnecessary "sudo apt-get upgrade and sudo dist-upgrade"?
There's nothing to dist-upgrade to.

Re-install.
You don't know what-all broke doing that and you can never be certain.

Good Luck.
