can not startx..please
 
i am usin mandrake10. 0

i have one error while strting startx.

#startx -- :1

kde started ans said one error.the erro was



the following installation problem was deteched while trying to start KDE:

$HOME not set!

KDE is unable to start

OK



this is graphical display out put.

now how to resolve this...help

set HOME to point to your home folder, for example, if your username were joe:

export HOME=/home/joe

you shouldn't need to do this though...

If you need the nVidia driver, you want the Linux IA32 driver unless you are using a 64 bit CPU

You didn't install the developmental packages? As root, command:
urpmi gcc
