hi everyone I am just to give up..yesterday I broke one of my laptops cause I couldn't do it... I was trying to install slackware 13 and I did everything I could.. I got to the point of partition the hard drive like this... oh sorry my hard drive is an external drive 1tb.. well like I was saying my first partition I made it from (cfdisk). I went into [NEW] [PRIMARY]FOR AND MADE IT BOOTABLE. 2) Second [new]made an sda2 3) third partition made it [new] Linux swap. 4) I finish with that. 5)then I went where it says [write].. and then [quit].. i went to set up and follow it... well i finish with that, then it started downloading the packages from the CD ROM. and finish.. when i booted up the system got to where it told me. VFS: cannot open root device "sda1" or unknown block (0,0) please append a correct "root" boot option here at the available partitions...I spent 10 hours doing it differently over and over again.. I just dont know what to do....

if you are going to use Slackware then you might want to FIRST buy the book
read it and build the slackware install
http://www.slackware.com/book/

http://store.slackware.com/cgi-bin/s...hzcz2B&mv_pc=7

and have a read through the install section
