Thanks linuxlover, I'll explain the black screen error better.

I boot up, choose Ubuntu from the OS list. I get the Ubuntu splash screen while the OS loads. I get to where it asks me for my user and password. I put in my username and password and the screen just goes completely black. I can see the mouse, but that's it.

I think my problem is I uninstalled too much using Synaptic.

I'm surprised the OS lets me break it using such a user friendly method.

Back to my original problem...

I'll be online with Ubu, than it'll just stop

No more internet activitiy

If I'm download a package.. it'll stop.

I'll switch off the wireless using the button on my laptop.. and switch it back on

It'll kick back on... for about 30 seconds.

I'm trying to download all the "wireless" packages I can find.. hoping that it fixes this problem.. but doing so I have to switch the wireless on and off. I'll post with how I make out after I finally get all the packages downloaded.
