can mysql-5.0.67 be installed in fc6

Dear Linux Experts,
I was hooked up in an attempt to install mysql-5.0.67 in FC-6.. i was able to install successfully , but found that "mysql.so" file to be missing..i reinstalled it again, but in no vain. i would like to know if mysql version 5.0.67 is compatible with fc6.. as fc6 is a pretty older version, i suspect if it can handle the advanced version of mysql...

Thanks in advance:-)

I can't actually confirm whether it's possible (or the opposite,
for that matter), but your version of FC has been out of support
for almost two years. Instead of toying with compiling a new
version of MySQL you should get a new version of FC.

Cheers,
Tink

It might be possible to build a mysql-5.0.67 from
mysql-5.0.67-2.fc10.src.rpm with 'rpmbuild -bb mysql.spec'

http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pu.../source/SRPMS/

wget http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pu...2.fc10.src.rpm

.....
