You need to phrase your question a bit more clearly. The search engines like Google will harvest basic info about your pages and then refer relevant queries to your site. If you mean that you wish to have your own internal search facility aka Coldfusion then you will have to do some searching for the relevant software which will index your site and provide internal results. An example is PerlPerfect Search.

Ok!
Actually I have a network consists of one Windows XP and one Linux machine.
and this network is not connected to internet.
I am running a web server on my Linux machine and a couple of virtual hosts.
now if a search query from windows machine come to Linux for any of my virtual host,
like www.my-site.com/search? bla bla
how would I parse that query and return results saved from the pages under my virtual hosts directories.
Regards

You would have to use an application like PerlPerfect search to index the sites.

perlfect sounds a really useful utility!
I have successfully intalled perlfect in the folder
/var/www/cgi-bin/perlfect/search
for my host
www.my-site.com
whose root path is /var/www/my-site
and cgi-bin installed by perlfect in the path /var/www/my-site/cgi-bin which is empty
I have indexed two files in my-site folder index.html and search.html
but the problem is when a search query goes from XP machine to Linux machine it doesnt return any search result!
any ideas??
Regards,
