Can I use x86 linux distributions if i have an AMD QL-64 Processor?

Hello everyone, I was wondering if I would be able to use x86 linux distros with my 64 bit processor, or do I have to use the 64 bit version? Thank you!

Yes. You can absolutely run a 32-bit version of the OS on your 64-bit CPU. And, in fact, there are many good and compelling reasons to do so.

You can. I usually run 32bit kernel on my 64 bit processor. And I have not faced any performance issues till date. Even my server runs 32bit kernel.

Ah good then (; All is well. Thanks for the quick responses.
