can i use the same ISP WITH LINUX THAT IM USING NOW WITH MY WINXP

Ummmm yes. If it's dial up, like AOL or something then I think you need to get a program and then you tell it the information about your ISP and it will dial in and connect for you. Here's information about that: http://www.yolinux.com/TUTORIALS/LinuxTutorialAOL.html - I have never tried it but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. If it's cable, then if you're connected via the ethernet cable then you are more or less connected, as long as your card is detected from the start.

more likely a problem you could conceivably have is if linux does not support your actual networking hardware. who you use to connect that hardware to the internet or other network is not really important, though some isp's are better than others, granted...aol might be an exception to this

Edit: i dont really consider aol an isp, but that's just me....
