can i use FC6 DVD to upgrade softwares in FC3 I am currently using?

I am currently using FC3 . I have got a FC6 install DVd but i dont want a complete new install.
Instead I want to upgrade my softwares and kernel all separately (so that I can learn ). Can I do that using FC6 DVD or do I need to get the new versions of softwares separately? ( I guess it's possible to do that).

No. It is unlikely you will avoid dependency hell. There is just such a huge difference between the two versions.

Note: FC3 is legacy. You are strongly urged to do that complete reinstall. You get to learn haw to use tar to make backups and that it is a good idea to create a separate partition for /home.
