From man locate:

To search for a file named exactly NAME (not *NAME*), use
        locate -b '\NAME'
Because \ is a globbing character, this disables the implicit replacement of NAME by *NAME*.
When in doubt, read the documentation.

( Although to be fair, it's likely that this example wasn't in the man page 9 years ago. )
