Its probably an AVI file... just open it with Xine, Mplayer, Totem, etc.

Sure you can ... what is it?

A "video" file is a container, containing video and audio. For instance AVI is a container, XviD is MPEG-4 video, MP3 is MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3 audio.
If you have AVI parser, some generic MPEG-4 decoder and MP3 decoder installed you can play this type of file.
