Can I override system wide source by editing bashrc

in my /etc/profile I am sourcing the following to be system wide for all user:
source /usr/local/NAWIPS/Gemenviron.profile

Is there a way to override the above. I installed a new version of the program and I want to be able to source the new version only to my account when I login.

I tried to source the new version in my bashrc however when I log in I am still pointing to the old version.

is it possible? how is it done?

Thanks

Show us what you've done, the local .bashrc (note leading '.') gets run after /etc/profile, so normally overrides same name vars. (and/or edit .bash_profile instead)
