Can I disable the pause before keyboard autorepeat starts?

Is it possible to disable the pause before keyboard autorepeat starts?
If so how and then how do you re enable it?

Assuming a x server is running autorepeat can be set via the xset command. Both the delay and rate values can be changed. If no values are specified the defaults are used.

Check out the man pages for xset.
