Can I copy X configuration from one distro to another?

I am running a multi boot system with about 5 different linux distros. I like the way that Suse setup my screen. 1280 X 1024. On my other distros (MEPIS in particular) my screen is maxed out at 1024 X 768, and I can't seem to change it by running xf86config.

Is there a file that I can edit directly to make this change? or Can I copy the Suse config over to the MEPIS?

Thanks

Yes u can, but make sure to change the font paths if any.
keep a backup of the files just incase X refuses to start.
