Here I'm assuming you are talking about the GUI when you use the term "old interface". CentOS6 and uses Gnome 2 by default. Gnome 2 was first release around 2001. Is that old enough?

i had CentOS 5.10 running on a machine like that
and CentOS 6.5 WILL ALSO run on a old p4 box with 512 meg of ram

DO NOT!!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT USE A 10 YEAR NOW DEAD OS
RH9 IS LONG DEAD

think of it this way

try installing win95 on that computer AND USING win95 on the internet TODAY

you will NOT be able to

so
do not use rh9

I don't think he understands that we tried to tell him in the other thread but he's insistent he wants to install a 10-14 year old distro I say let him the kids could always use another computer for a botnet.

I have found a powerhouse computer in the trash that a newbie thought it was broken. It had 15 toolbars,15!So I decided to put Linux Mint on it so this thread is solved .
