Can anyone explain to me what kexec support is?

Looking at the netbootcd isolinux.cfg, and it has the entry commented, but just wanna know what kexec support is?

#label tinycore-kexec
#menu label ^TinyCoreKexec Support
#kernel /boot/kexec.bzI
#append initrd=/boot/tinycore.gz quiet

thanks.
