Unhappy can't find RAMDISK initialized


I am trying to config the RAM disk on CentOS 5.5

/etc/grub.conf
title CentOS (2.6.18-194.el5)
root (hd0,0)
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.18-194.el5 ro root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 rhgb quiet ramdisk_size=2048000
initrd /initrd-2.6.18-194.el5.img

#reboot

root@dl360-157# ls -al /dev/ram*

what steps are missing ?

First: Just try to create a filesystem on /dev/ramdisk and tell us if you succeed.
Second: Do you really need a 2GB ramdisk?

Thanks, a file system can be created on ramdisk.
2G is needed because it is for caching a lot of trading data
