can't find folder /use/src/linux

I'm trying to install a software called "nistnet network emulator". in the installation instructions it tells me to do : cd /use/src/linux when i do this, i get an error message telling me that the folder does not exist.
In the configuration file of the software there is a part as follows: "/use/src/linux" should point to the top of the linux kernel source tree.
how can i find the top of the linux kernel source tree in my linux?

it's /usr not /use

well either way, that's presuam,bly not the problem, just a spelling mistake. you need to install the kernle source to compile whatever, i'd guess that you've never ever touched stuff like that, so just install the rpm file from the cd's, assuming you use rpm's. it's called kernel-source-2.4.xxxxxx.rpm

it s the folder /usr/src/linux and if you dont have it just create it and download the kernel under www.kernel.org just unpack the tar file and move the folder linux in the right folder...

no, don't get it from kernel.org, unless you're gonig to compile from the source, which they're presumably not interested in, as they're only trying to install a program. installing that will cause loads of problems possibly, as the code will have changed from their default kernel. you should install the CORRECT source, which will presumably be a distro-modified version.
