Question Can't find compatable wireless adapter

I Would like to buy a PCMCIA wireless adapter for my notebook.
Here's what I have:

Red Hat 2.6.18-8.el5xem i686 i386 operating system

HP Compaq nx7400 notebook

Is there an adapter supported by this operating system without
haveing to download and compile a driver.

If there is, what is it and where can I buy it?

I can't seem to find anything that does not require complicated
downloads and compliing.

Thanks for Your help.

Hi, welcome to LQ.

http://www.google.com/linux?hl=en&q=...G=Search&meta=

Quite a few promising looking links, even to e-Bay auctions
that advertise cards as being compatible with Linux! :}

Cheers,
Tink

Current RHEL5.X kernel is 2.6.18-128.7.1. There has been a ton of hardware support added between -8 and -128, as well as many security patches. Updating your kernel will make your life much easier.

Updating the Kernel sounds like the way to go.
I'll try that and look again.

Thanks
