Why not connect a console cable directly to the switch and view the config ? trying to guess the IP would be difficult especially if someone has changed the config.
By default Cisco Switches do not have an IP address to begin with.

minicom will allow you to connect directly to the Switch using the serial port on your laptop via the shell
seyon is a X11 based communications package that should work as well
From a windows machine I would use terraterm Pro as the application
