Try to log in as root. If you could, take a look at your home directory and make sure it's there. If all is there then you might have changed permissions by mistake so use chown to give your account ownership over your home directory. If that doesn't work, create a new user while you're logged in as root, copy your files from the old user home directory to the new one, then use chown to give the new user ownership of these files otherwise only root will be able to access them.
im trying to enter my password for root in my GUI but it is incorrect password but in my console it is correct .. what is the possible problem???
Caps Lock On? Can you log in as user via console? Have you ever been able to log in properly? If so, what did you last do before you started getting errors?
yes!! i log in properly i can manage root properly in my console but in GUI i can even access my control panel using root's password the error is"password incorrect" but in console my password is working... i accidentally change the ownership of my home folder but now it's working properly...that's my only problem root's password not working in my GUI...
